Hurts displayed a dominant performance against the Cowboys.
The Philadelphia Eagles put on a ruthless display at the AT&T stadium on Sunday night. The result ended in an embarrassing 34-6 defeat for the Dallas Cowboys.
It was not the merciless beating that would have impressed Eagles fans the most, but the latest elite performance from quarterback Jalen Hurts.
The star out of Oklahoma continued to show the strides he has taken since the defeat in Tampa.
That loss had fans questioning whether Hurts could ever replicate his Super Bowl antics from the 2022 season, where he finished second in the MVP voting behind Patrick Mahomes.
The recent improvement has been spectacular. Before last night, Jalen Hurts had not turned the ball over since the bye week in Week 5.
That streak came to an end last night after some excellent defending saw Trevon Diggs pluck Hurts’ pass from the air preventing a touchdown.
Micah Parsons added fuel to the fire when he caused a fumble in the Eagles redzone which had fans questioning whether this was going to be one of those nights for Hurts.
But, what we saw next proved how far Hurts has came in such a short window. Maturity. Resilience. Making the right decisions at the right time. This is something we had not seen in a long time from Jalen.
Usually, when one domino falls, the rest come crashing down and his night spirals into a nightmare.
Instead, Hurts ended the night with 202 passing yards, resulting in two touchdowns. He then continued to dominate proceedings with two rushing touchdowns, including the iconic ‘tush push’.
There is no doubt in my mind that if Hurts continues this rich vein of form, not only will he be near the top of the MVP voting, he could carry the Eagles to another Super Bowl.
