The Eagles claimed a statement win over the Ravens.
Despite being on a seven game winning streak, questions were still being asked of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Can Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley perform in big games? How will Vic Fangio and his defensive unit handle the pressure against an elite offensive team?
All questions were answered on Sunday Night Football against statistically the most potent offense in all of football – the Baltimore Ravens.
Philadelphia showed that they are the real deal. They clinically put Baltimore to the sword in a game that ended 24-19 to the Eagles.
Another resilient performance from the defense saw them hold Lamar Jackson to two touchdowns on the night and forcing Justin Tucker to kick three field goal attempts, which resulted in two misses.
The less said about Tucker’s performance the better. He also missed an extra point after the Ravens first touchdown of the game.
There were several outstanding players in Philadelphia’s defensive unit on the night. Rookie cornerback, Cooper DeJean, provided the highlight of the night as he slammed Derrick Henry – Baltimore’s star running back – to the ground with an earth-shattering tackle.
Zack Baun showed exactly why he has suddenly became a firm fan favourite for the Eagles. He turned in another dominant showing on defense – adding another eight tackles to his total for the year.
Barkley continued his scintillating form against the NFL’s second highest defense against the rush – running for 107 yards on 23 carries. His name stays at the forefront of the MVP conversation.
It seems every week a new question is being asked of the Eagles. A new accusation which results in their Super Bowl credentials going under the microscope.
Does this result finally have fans around the league taking notice?
