NFL announces NFC’s Players of the Week from Week 7

A revenge game resulted in a Player of the Week award.

The Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions were all victorious in Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season.

The Rams and Lions came through close games, while the Eagles cruised to victory over the New York Giants – courtesy of an award-winning performance from a certain running back.

Here are the three Player of the Week award winners from the NFC in Week 7.

Offense – Saquon Barkley

That’s how you make your mark in a revenge game!

Saquon Barkley notched up 187 yards from scrimmage and a rushing touchdown as the Eagles beat the Giants 28-3.

The Player of the Week award is Barkley’s second of the 2024 season and fifth of his career.

Defense – Cobie Durant

Cobie Durant was all over the field, as the Los Angeles Rams beat the Las Vegas Raiders 20-15 on Sunday evening.

The 26-year-old recorded an interception, sack and forced fumble against the Raiders – becoming the first defensive back to do so this season.

Durant wins the Player of the Week award for the first time. He is just the second player from South Carolina State to win the award – joining Darius Leonard.

Special Teams – Jake Bates

The Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings proved to be one of the best games so far in the 2024 season.

The game ebbed and flowed, and was eventually decided with 15 seconds remaining! Up stepped Jake Bates, who knocked through the game-winning field goal.

Bates was successful with all four of his PATs, as well as the 44-yard field goal which won the game.

It is a first Player of the Week award for the Detroit Lions kickers.
