A new dawn rises in Duval County

It has been a whirlwind 48 hours.

Finally, we have an answer. Welcome to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Liam Coen!

If you are a Jags fan, your social feeds may have been full of anticipation that an announcement might be imminent. We can all breathe a sigh of relief, we have a new head coach, and what a signing this could be.

Two days ago, the picture in Jacksonville looked rather bleak. It seemed to be history repeating itself. Trent Baalke was filtering through candidates who he could see himself working alongside.

Then, prime candidate Liam Coen announces that he is no longer putting himself in the running for the position and will remain at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

What followed, at the time, seemed a bizarre reaction to a single candidate walking away. Trent Baalke was sent packing.

Other than this news elating a large proportion of Jags fans, this also led the way to Coen to return to negotiations.

In just a short time, the atmosphere within Jacksonville has shifted. Even thousands of miles away in the UK, the reaction has been felt.

There was a sense that the next head coach, no matter who it was, was set up to fail if Baalke remained.

Now that Coen is involved in the search for the next general manager, it feels like a grey cloud has been lifted.

Jaguars fans have had to remain steadfast in their support. We have faced heart-breaking results. I have found myself watching from behind the sofa whenever we are playing in the red zone!

With Coen onboard, I sense a turning point in our fortunes. A new dawn is rising in Duval county. There is a sense of optimism that has reinvigorated the embattled fans.

The Jaguars pounced on an opportunity and they got their man.
