Buffalo Bills host the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday in a potential game of the season clash.
Buffalo is famed for its hot and spicy Buffalo Wings – but this weekend is looking cold, very cold indeed.
They face a formidable opponent in the vaunted Baltimore Ravens – MVP-elect in Lamar Jackson and his much larger side-kick Derrick Henry.
The Bills Mafia are optimistic however, with this game being hosted in potentially -10 degrees Celsius at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo – it is a potential game changer.
Five predictions for this game – each spicier than the last!
Lemon & Herb: Josh Allen passes for two touchdowns and rushes for another
Okay, we are going to start off with something flavourful but nothing with a kick.
Josh had a torrid time in Week 4 against the Ravens – as Baltimore won 35-10.
With just 180 passing yards and zero touchdowns – his competition percentage only 55.2% – I expect him to have a much more normal statline this week.
Mild: Bills double their rushing yards compared to Week 4
Buffalo notched up just 81 rushing yards in Week 4.
The Bills were behind 21-3 halfway through the second quarter and the run game got abandoned soon after.
Well we saw the Bills run all over Denver – James Cook has topped 100 yards four times in the last seven games – and one of those was the Patriots game where he sat large portions.
When it is cold – the Bills run the ball.
Medium: The Bills hold Derrick Henry to less than 100 yards from scrimmage
Derrick Henry is a freak athlete, future Hall of Famer and maybe the last of his kind as a running back.
He trampled the Bills to the tune of 199 yards and a touchdown – with 10 receiving yards and an extra touchdown as well – in week four.
So what is my reason for optimism? The Bills were missing key contributors on defense.
Matt Milano is back. Terrel Bernard did not play in Week 4 and neither did Taron Johnson.
Hot: An Offensive Lineman scores a touchdown for Buffalo
Alec Anderson played 22 snaps (29%) against the Broncos last weekend.
That is a sixth offensive lineman that the Bills are subbing in to support the run-game but also as a potential eligible receiver in the red zone.
Against tough competition, sometimes you need to think outside the box.
Buffalo Hot and Tangy: Josh Allen will be the MVP favourite again Monday morning.
Firstly, the Bills likely need to win, Lamar needs to be average – maybe even choke? – and Allen needs to be sensational and the reason for the win.
It is already farfetched right? Jackson has been near-perfect all year.
Lamar Jackson won the All Pro First Team vote, with Allen finishing second.
You have to go back to 1987 where John Elway claimed the MVP Title after being voted Second All Pro behind Joe Montana.
It has been a season of Josh Allen re-writing the history books – so why stop now?
