Arrowhead is a fortress.
Well, we have reached the Championship Games after an exciting and perhaps unexpected season.
The Kansas City Chiefs, who have not lost a home game since Christmas Day 2023, await the arrival of the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead this evening.
A postseason Chiefs-Bills match-up is becoming something of a tradition! The Chiefs are going to need to rely on more than just luck to beat Josh Allen and co. after the Bills’ convincing win in November.
Unlike the rest of the Chiefs season, there was no last-minute field goal or blocked kick as the Bills won 30-21. Now they will want to break their playoff losing streak.
This is the fourth time in five season that these teams will square off in the postseason.
For the Bills, perhaps the fourth time is a charm. But for the Chiefs, the Bills are the penultimate enemy in their quest to become the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
‘Greatness’
Whatever happens in Sunday’s game, I am sure that the Patrick Mahomes-Josh Allen rivalry will continue for a long time to come; there is a reason that these teams meet, at this level, almost every year and the reason is greatness.
Mahomes is a leader, an inspiration and a role model. He has given this sport everything that he has got and risen to victory.
Under head coach Andy Reid, and with a band of brothers around him, you can guarantee that come Sunday, the Chiefs will be ready and willing to defend their house.
Unsurprisingly, I am backing the Chiefs, but I predict a fraught and close game – with me watching behind my hands for most of it. Because let us be honest, it just would not be a Bills-Chiefs playoff game if it was not.
Good luck to both the Chiefs and Bills fans who will be watching, and I am sure you neutrals will enjoy an entertaining show.
