Could history repeat itself with OBJ and LA?

They say never go back to your ex.

That being said, could Odell Beckham Jr. – also known as ‘OBJ’ – find himself back in Los Angeles?

The idea of a reunion with the Rams and coach Sean McVay might linger. Their connection has never faded, with Beckham even crashing McVay’s wedding in 2022.

On Friday, McVay addressed the possibility of Beckham rejoining the Rams.

“I do not know,” McVay said during a press conference.

“The love I have for Odell, you know that. Just waking up, kind of getting ready for what is next for us and focusing on this.

“I am not really sure about him. I have had a lot of other things that we are kind of focused on right now.”

Beckham likely has his own preferences for his next destination, probably a playoff-contending team.

The Rams may also not be the best fit for ‘OBJ’. They already boast two standout receivers in Cooper Kupp and rising star Puka Nacua.

Would Beckham accept a wide receiver three role? Demarcus Robinson has seven touchdown catches this season and has been reliable when either Kupp or Nacua were unavailable. It raises questions about whether Beckham would see any significant playing time.

On the other hand, Beckham is already familiar with McVay’s system and remains close with teammates like Kupp.

Given his history of injuries, Beckham might be content with a limited role, making an occasional impact rather than carrying a heavy workload.

As the waiver process plays out, it will be fascinating to see where Beckham lands. A return to Los Angeles would certainly make headlines.

Still, Rams fans remember Beckham’s incredible contributions during their Super Bowl LVI victory. Before suffering a devastating knee injury, Beckham looked set to win the Super Bowl MVP award, with two catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in the first half alone.

Beckham’s next chapter starts soon – if he clears waivers on Monday, the NFL world will be watching closely.
