‘Definitely a way back’ for the 1-5 Jaguars, says Lawrence

Trevor Lawrence remains optimistic.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence says “there’s definitely a way back” for the franchise in 2024.

Lawrence was speaking after the Jags were well beaten by the Chicago Bears on Sunday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The loss moved the Jags to 1-5 on the season, with their only win coming against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5.

Jacksonville have to dust themselves down before another NFL London game in Week 7 – against the New England Patriots.

“We got 11 more games, so there’s definitely a way back,” Lawrence told reporters after the Bears loss.

“We have to take care of business on our end, but it’s a long season and we have a lot of football left.”

The Patriots, who the Jaguars face at Wembley Stadium, are also 1-5 through six weeks of the 2024 regular season.

New England has lost five straight games since beating the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1. They also now have rookie Drake Maye starting at quarterback.

And although on paper the Patriots are one of the more favourable opponents, Lawrence is still confident in the Jaguars’ ability.

“I know what we can do as a team, I’ve seen it,” said Lawrence.

“We have some really good players, a lot of playmakers.

“We’ve done it before. I’ve seen us pull ourselves out of holes bigger than this.

“We just have to take it one day at a time, one week at a time.”
