The votes are in.
As the 2024 NFL season enters its final day, HuddleUK reveals its final award winners.
One UK fan from each of the 32 NFL franchises has voted, with some awards extremely close.
The big one is MVP, which has been up for debate all season.
There have been many candidates including Saquon Barkley, Sam Darnold and Joe Burrow.
Then there are the big two: Lamar Jackson vs Josh Allen. Let us see how our writers saw this debate.
Winner – Lamar Jackson [14 Votes]
Before there is any complaints, yes Allen won the Divisional Round duel. This poll was taken before the start of the playoffs, just like the AP MVP.
There is no way around it, statistically Lamar Jackson has been the best player in the league over the last 24 months.
Despite winning fewer games, Jackson posted his best season yet by almost every metric.
Jackson had 4,172 passing yards and 41 touchdowns with just four interceptions. His QBR was 77.2 and had 8.8 yards per attempt. All this with a bigger sample size.
Add to that 915 yards on the ground and another four touchdowns.
The Ravens had big wins against the Bills, Bengals (twice), Commanders, Broncos, Buccaneers, Chargers and Steelers.
Not to mention chasing down a two-game division lead in 11 days at Christmas. There was no better in 2024.
Regardless of how the playoffs went, Ravens fans must savour what they have now – HuddleUK’s 2024 MVP Award.
Runner-Up – Josh Allen [10 Votes]
Josh Allen had an MVP calibre season, it is just one player had a better season.
Allen was a dual threat with 40 touchdowns, 12 rushing and 28 passing and 4,262 all purpose yards.
He also had just 14 sacks as he improved his elusiveness.
Allen led the Buffalo Bills to signature wins against Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions.
That all led to a run to the conference championship game – though that was not accounted for in the voting.
Third Place – Joe Burrow [4 Votes]
Burrow had an incredible season.
Had the Bengals been a more balanced team, it would have been interesting to see how many votes he would have garnered.
Burrow posted a career high completion percentage – 70.6% – and threw for just shy of 5,000 yards – 4,918, another career high.
The Bengals had the most passing yards in the league but were supported by the third worst rushing attack, offering only 93 yards a game.
Burrow’s 45 touchdowns, 43 passing and two crucial rushing, provided 270 of the Bengals 472 points.
He also had standout games against the Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders and Baltimore Ravens – twice.
The Bengals were single-handedly pulled into the playoff race by Burrow, falling a game short but his accomplishments cannot be ignored.
