The Eagles were flying and Lions were roaring.
Another week of the 2024 NFL season is – almost – at an end.
The two highest scoring teams in Week 8 were the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions.
As well as leading their respective teams to victory, the two winning quarterbacks wrote themselves into NFL record books.
The Lions scored 52 points against the troubles Tennessee Titans, with Jared Goff once again impressing.
Detroit has won five games in a row, and Goff has been in the best form of his career.
So much so, that Goff has the highest completion percentage of any quarterback in NFL history in a five game stretch – with a minimum of 100 attempts.
Goff has completed 88 of his 106 pass attempts since Week 4, an 83% completion rate.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has also been breaking records, but with his legs.
Hurts threw one touchdown – with a passer rating of 132.5 – and rushed for three more in Philadelphia’s 37-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
In doing so, Hurts became the first player in NFL history with multiple rushing touchdowns and a passer rating of 100+ in back-to-back games.
But that was no Hurts’ only NFL record set in Week 8!
Hurts has now scored three rushing touchdowns in three different NFL games – the most ever by a quarterback.
And I know those of you who love trivia will want to know the three quarterbacks with two games of three rushing touchdowns?
The answers – Daunte Culpepper, Johnny Lujack and Tobin Rote! Hats off if you got all three.
