One last roar: Jaguars aim to finish strong

Well, we have made it.

After an enduring season, and with scattered glimpses of hope, the Jaguars are gearing up to play the Indianapolis Colts to round out their season.

Last time out against the Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville showed that they can play good football, even with key players missing across the roster.

If anything, this gives hopes to us long-suffering Jacksonville fans that there is something around the corner.

It is helping us believe that next year is the ‘teal’ year and things will start happening on both sides of the ball.

Last week, I mentioned Jacksonville could put a stop to the Colts’ playoff chances. Ironically, that has already happened with the New York Giants unceremoniously extinguishing their hopes.

In our final game of the season, this is a real chance to rubber stamp ourselves as a divisional contender for next season and put up a good showing to round off a season mainly to forget.

With members of the first line of the depth chart missing on both sides, this is also an opportunity to get some rookies and lesser experienced players valuable game time in a risk free environment.

Speaking of individuals who have had to step up, Mac Jones is one of these.

We all remember his days at New England but credit has to be given to his gutsy performances of late. He really has shown why he is deserving of the reserve quarterback role.

Lawrence’s injury and subsequent decision to undergo shoulder surgery has not resulted in a slump in form. Let us hope that he can improve the Jaguars’ record in Week 18 and leave fans with confidence for next season.
