Fairytale of Pittsburgh.

It is that time of year where Christmas trees up and down the country are being surrounded by presents as the anticipation builds for Christmas morning.

With Pittsburgh beginning to falter on the run-up to Christmas, this has many fans lacking in festive cheer.

Luckily, I know of just the fellow who might be able to fix this problem heading into the new year.

So what will Steelers fans be putting on their list for Santa Clause to fix this Christmas ?

‘It’s beginning to look a lot like blitzmas’

A healthy ankle will be the first thing on Santa’s list for Steelers fans around the globe, after T.J. Watt rolled his ankle against the Eagles on Sunday.

While X-rays came back negative, he is a doubt for Saturday’s key division match-up against the Baltimore Ravens.

Watt has again been in blistering form this year with 11.5 sacks and unbelievably six forced fumbles. Thanks to this he is deservingly the odds on favourite to become the defensive player of the year.

Watt also brings an uncanny ability to come up big for the Steelers just when they need it most.

He is absolutely pivotal to any postseason success Steelers fans hope to enjoy this year.

‘It’s a wonderful life’

After last weeks game in particular, Russell Wilson could do with being introduced to the guardian angel Clarence Odbody.

Just like George Bailey was shown flashbacks from his life, Russ could do with the same treatment to remind him of what made him a perennial MVP candidate for the Seahawks.

There has been glimpses this year, noticeably against the Bengals where he had his best passing day since he was in his pomp for Seattle.

Too many times this year the offense has been lifeless for large portions of the game. Now we are coming up against elite teams and every game counts, Russ needs to find a way to improve his play.

‘All I want for Christmas is you….. to stop being a knucklehead’

George Pickens has taken Steelers nation on a hell of a ride since he entered the league from the University of Georgia in 2022.

Amazing catches, touchdowns, hellacious blocks, dumb penalties and injuries to name some of the trials and tribulations fans have been through.

The Bengals game seemed to be a low point as far as bone-headed penalties go, but then in the games since it has been clear that the offense is nowhere near as capable when he is not involved.

Please Santa give George the gift of maturity!
