Titans quarterbacks fighting for their jobs

More unwanted records for Tennessee.

This week’s story is going to be short and sweet because at this point I feel like I am beating a dead horse.

We can reliably say that the Tennessee Titans are consistently inconsistent. This week we achieved another record that we did not want, the most turnovers in the NFL.

An eye-watering 24 of the 37 points scored by the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday were from Tennessee Titans turnovers.

The game had a combined 10 turnovers – tied for most in a game since 2007 – along with over 200 yards given away from only 26 penalties.

In the middle of the third quarter, quarterback Will Levis threw his fourth Pick-Six of the season and the – correct – decision was finally made to bench him in favour of Mason Rudolph.

At this point there were flashes of something game changing – which in honesty could have been remnants from the dodgy chips I ate Friday – but alas it was to no avail. By this point it was too little too late.

Quarterback battle

With the majority of 2024 in the rear view and next season the focal point on the horizon, the real battle now is for the starting quarterback role.

Both Levis and Rudolph need to do everything they can in these last few precious weeks of the season if they want to keep their jobs.

That is assuming one of them gets the job, depending on the upcoming draft it is highly likely – in my opinion – that Brian Callahan, Ran Carthon, and the coaching team use one of our picks to secure a top round quarterback.

Maybe now with nothing to lose, is the time to really test the limits of both players to see if there is anything left for the organisation to get out of them?

Some tough decisions have to be made, or perhaps they are the easiest of all because let us be honest, we are all chasing a Lombardi.
