Giants beaten by Commanders – again! So what next?

What comes next for the G-Men?

Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders walked into Metlife on Sunday and left with the win over the New York Giants.

In a game where the score line may look like the Giants were in the game, most Giants fans knew what the result would be after the third drive.

After starting with a three-and-out, the Commanders were forced punt.

The Giants then proceeded to march down the field, positively running the ball, giving fans that glimmer of hope.

It was all swiftly wiped away with a strip sack on Daniel Jones. Then, four plays later, the Commanders score a touchdown to go 7-0 up.

It is all too common that this Giants team cannot make any mistakes to have a chance at winning.

The offence is too limited at the hands of Jones to be giving away easy points like it does.

The writing was on the wall at half time with the Commanders leading 21-7.

Fast forward to the end of the game and there are a number of reasons for the loss – notably Deonte Banks continuing his regression and allowing Terry McLaurin two easy scores.

The biggest question is how long will this be Brian Daboll’s Giants?

Changes needed

Owner John Mara gave Daboll and General Manager Joe Schoen a vote of confidence this week. But, as we all know in this business that may well not be the case.

Daboll is into his third season with the Giants. After a promising first season it has been nothing but regression since.

Controversies over the handling and relationship of OC Mike Kafka and most notably DC Wink Martindale resulted in an apparent intervention from Schoen this offseason.

I am starting to wonder how far the personal relationship between Schoen and Daboll will extend to allow Daboll to continue.

After all, Schoen has to put his own career first. Currently on his Giants tenure he has two questionable drafts, a polarising decision to give Jones a $40 million a year deal and he allowed Xavier McKinney and Saquon Barkley to walk in free agency.

It seems par for the course nowadays as a Giants fan, it is early November and the season is over.

It will be interesting to see what comes this season for the Giants and the decisions Schoen makes.
